Bug in a Rug

 

Hello Crafty Pals,

Today's make is a take two. Both are paperclip bookmarks. One is a regular paperclip bookmark and the other is a hidden paperclip bookmark.

I used the cute little bug digistamp by Becky Conley (available in our Etsy shop). I cut out four (4) and colored them in using my Ohuhu alcohol markers.

I printed a rug photo onto a piece of paper, then duplicated it opposite the first one in order to fold it over. I placed a bug on each of the rug photos. I folded the paper in half between the rugs and placed it over the long edge of the paper clip.

For the hidden paperclip bookmark, I cut a piece of paper a bit larger than the rug photos. I folded it in half and placed a paperclip in the middle. I then glued the folded rug with the bugs over the paper with the paperclip in order to create the hidden paperclip bookmark.

Both of these paperclips are as "Cute as a bug in a rug."

Rainbow Sweetcorn

Leaves: Gold Brown blend

Floral altered book page

 Hello everyone, it’s fall everywhere here and the image I received to play with would make beautiful fall flowers... but I went a different direction..lol I have been working on an altered book with a Disney theme and knew these beautiful flowers by Becky Conley would be perfect for my Tinker bell pages..A process video is here https://youtu.be/PcY2Pt79SAM

Fall

Becky Conley illustrated this cute critter for the Coffee Bean. 

I colored the squirrel with copics and used distress inks for the background. I used the stamp from Lawn Fawn for the photo and sentiment.

The design was colored with Prisma Colored Pencils.  The background was created using ColorZ Chalk.

It's a standard 8.5 x 11" folded in half.

Pocket Tag

 

I created a pocket tag using these two (2) cute images from Becky Conley. I printed the images and colored them in using Ohuhu markers. I used dies to cut around the images and to make the tags.

I made a large tag for the bug and created a pocket on the back to hold the smaller tag of the moon and clouds. I tied ribbon to both tags.

I used the image and mounted it onto a 6x6 card and cut around the pumpkin leaving the stalk sticking up I coloured in using my marker pens thought it would make a lovely invite nice and clean with the image doing all the work hope you like it thank you looking 

Pet Bereavement - Personalised Gift

Hey Crafty Friends,

Bereavement of any kind is hard to go through, I'm sure we all struggle with bereavement cards or projects. Today I wanted to share something a little different to a card, a personalised frame. I am making a personalised pet bereavement frame however this would work for any type of project you want to do. As part of the coffee bean design team this month we were provided an image by our illustrator Becky Conley of an arch with leave twines, having previously picked up a frame in a pound store I immediately came up with this gift idea.

Starting with my image printed on alcohol marker friendly cardstock and coloured it up using Spectrum Noir Tri-Blends. Based on where my idea is going I also drew some steps inside the archway. For the backing panel I distress inked squeezed lemonade onto PaintON cardstock.

Colour combination:

Archway - Green Turquoise blend

Leaves - Orange, Dark Red, Gold Yellow + Light Green blends.

We all have a pot of printed images I'm sure that are just waiting to be put onto cards and sometimes there is just something in there that will work perfectly, I pulled out a dog from the Heffy Doodle who let the dogs out stamp set that I had previously coloured to use alongside the archway.

All the above will create just 1 part of a 4 way split frame so now it was time to put together the next part of the frame, this will form the section above the archway. Using the Heffy Doodle starry rainbow die and cut it from various coloured cardstocks, what I love about this die is that the stars are fully cut and you can pop them out, I popped them out and switched the colours around. Whilst using the Heffy Doodle stash I cut out some swirly clouds and stenciled a cloudy skies background with distress inks peacock feathers, picked raspberry and squeezed lemonade.

Now there are 2 sections left to fill, I'm actually only going to complete one last frame on my project as I purposely want to leave the last one blank, I'll explain later! 

As with any card or gift a sentiment is needed, this is probably the hardest thing for a pet bereavement or any bereavement, there are lots of inspiration online, I found a nice little quote that I felt was really lovely, using a variety of alphabet stamp sets I stamped up the quote in various Memento ink pad colours on a distress inked background of candied apple, carved pumpkin and cracked pistachio.

The final frame I am purposely leaving empty so that the person this is gifted too can insert their own photo memory of their beloved pet and have something to cherish.

Trick or Treat Pocket Letter

 Hello everyone! I love Halloween 🎃 I got to play with Becky Conley’s Trick or treat image this time and I have to say it made an awesome centerpiece for my Trick or Treat Pocket letter. Crow on a Branch - Card

 Hello Crafty People!

Welcome back to the blog. There's so much inspiration here, please take a tour of the other projects. 

Today's card project features the crow on a maple branch.

Materials:

Coffee Beans image to color

cardstock, tissue paper, raw umber glaze by Golden, metallic fibers, fabric flower, brad, gold metallic spritz, distress ink, adhesive. 

Instructions:

1. This background paper is one of my favorite techniques. It can look like leather or tree bark.  Spray adhesive onto cardstock and adhere crinkled tissue paper. Use a brayer to flatten, let dry. Paint with umber glaze (acrylic paints sometimes work, if you're careful and they are a liquid). Let dry, then cut to size for your card.   (5x8)

2. Print and color your Coffee Bean Design, ink the edges with distress ink and glue in place on the background paper.

3. Wrap brown/metallic fibers around the base below the image, tie off in the back.

4. Adhere a fabric flower with a mini brad in the center. 

5. Spritz the entire project with gold metallic spritz. let dry and adhere to the card base.

Psycho Lollipop

 

Hello friends.... I know, I know... it has been forever and a day since you heard from me last.  

My post from today is from the Digi file called "Spooky Treats" from Sarah Kay.  And the sentiment is from Crackerbox and Suzy Stamps Designs.  

The Cat-o-Lantern Lollipop is colored with Stampin Up Stampin Blend markers. The Digi file was printed from my printer onto Whisper White card stock and then cut out using my ScanNCut.  I added a little bling with Wink of Stella on the eyes and the bow.  Layered on textured black card stock and then on an A2 Whisper White card base.  

Cannot wait to be able to send this card to one of my dearest friends.

Robin, here sharing my project from The Coffee Beans Blog.  The image I used has been hand drawn by our very own Becky Conley. This image and many others by Becky Conley can be found here Lady Beans Etsy Store

I hand crafted my own background on kraft paper, using a stencil and white paint, a distressed dot stamp and black ink, a swirly stamp with orange ink, I finished off the back ground by blending in purple ink. Adding scribbles with a gel pen. The image it self has been paper pieced.

I made a circle for the backing and decided you use guilding flakes as I thought that they looked very autumnal I coloured in the image with my marker and blended ink for the sky this was a lovely stile to work with it is also available from our Etsy shop thank you for looking file by the lovely Becky Conley

Bookmarks

Hey Crafty Friends!

I'm back today to share with you a hand drawn image by our illustrator Becky Conley.

My project is a quick and simple one, when I saw the image I just new I had to make myself some bookmarks. My other happy place besides crafts is reading and I dont actually own any bookmarks! As always all products links can be found at the end of my post 😊

Unfortunately I dont own proper bookmark dies so I adapted and used my trusty Heffy Doodle stitched rectangles dies and cut 2 panels from coloured cardstock and used a small random circle die I had to put holes in the corner. 

Using Spectrum Noir triblends to colour the image and fussy cut them out!

Colour combination - Blue Turquoise, Pink Violet, Gold Yellow, Dusty Purple, Green Turquoise, Dark Red and Light Green Blends.

Now it needed some sort of sentiment, digging out the Lawn Fawn Violet's ABCs stamp set, I used the Mini MISTI to stamp my sentiment onto the bookmark panels and finished up with a bit of ribbon through the holes. 

I love how quick and easy these were to put together and now I have my very own bookmarks!

Fall Light

 

Becky Conley provided this cute fall tree image for us to use this month. And to me it said, “Wouldn’t I be perfect on a candle holder?” Absolutely!

I printed the image out on vellum and colored it in using my Ohuhu markers. Vellum works best if you color it in on the back side of the printed image. I then cut it out and ran it through the Xyron so that it would have all over adhesive.

I placed a circle the same size as the image onto a clean jar and painted the jar using acrylic paint. Any color will do - I used copper. I removed the blank circle and adhered the image onto the unpainted area of the jar.

I took some lace and glued it around the perimeter of the image. Using white cardstock, I cut out a circle to fit the lid of the jar. Then I punched out a scalloped circle from patterned cardstock and adhered it to the center of the white circle on the lid. I glued rickrack around the edge of the lid. Then I placed a flameless candle inside the jar.

Voila! A cute little candle holder.

These images aren’t just for cards. They can be used on various projects to brighten up your home.

Back to school

 Hello Crafters!

I made this scrapbook page using the sketch of school books. 

The sketch is colored with markers with accents of gold leafing pen, then cut out. 

Mix up some patterned paper, add a title (3" schoolhouse, by cricut) a distressed tag behind the book panel and some silk leaves.

Fall Fun

Fall is nearly here and before we know it the leaves will be changing colors and falling off the trees. I was so excited to get to work with this beautiful Fall image by Sarah Kay. I printed the design in a couple sizes so I could keep coloring more leaves with my Copic markers- such fun! I really like the way this Happy Fall card turned out and am excited to send it out to brighten an autumn day for a friend.
