Both are paperclip bookmarks. One is a regular paperclip bookmark and the other is a hidden paperclip bookmark.

I used the cute little bug digistamp by Becky Conley (available in our Etsy shop). I cut out four (4) and colored them in using my Ohuhu alcohol markers.

I printed a rug photo onto a piece of paper, then duplicated it opposite the first one in order to fold it over. I placed a bug on each of the rug photos. I folded the paper in half between the rugs and placed it over the long edge of the paper clip.

For the hidden paperclip bookmark, I cut a piece of paper a bit larger than the rug photos. I folded it in half and placed a paperclip in the middle. I then glued the folded rug with the bugs over the paper with the paperclip in order to create the hidden paperclip bookmark.

Both of these paperclips are as "Cute as a bug in a rug."

Happy crafting all,

Janet Clark
Coffee Bean DT
Janet Clarkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09026348649353381233noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160449512403985677.post-87134069540800954112020-10-17T09:48:00.000+01:002020-10-18T21:47:15.865+01:00Rainbow SweetcornHey Crafty Friends,

Today I'm sharing my colouring of the sweetcorn image by our Illustrator Becky Conley. Today I wanted to share something a little different to a card, a personalised frame. I am making a personalised pet bereavement frame however this would work for any type of project you want to do. As always product links can be found at the end of my post 😊 (click any image to view it larger)

As part of the coffee bean design team this month we were provided an image by our illustrator Becky Conley of an arch with leave twines, having previously picked up a frame in a pound store I immediately came up with this gift idea.

Starting with my image printed on alcohol marker friendly cardstock and coloured it up using Spectrum Noir Tri-Blends. Based on where my idea is going I also drew some steps inside the archway. For the backing panel I distress inked squeezed lemonade onto PaintON cardstock.

Colour combination:

Archway - Green Turquoise blend

Leaves - Orange, Dark Red, Gold Yellow + Light Green blends.

We all have a pot of printed images I'm sure that are just waiting to be put onto cards and sometimes there is just something in there that will work perfectly, I pulled out a dog from the Heffy Doodle who let the dogs out stamp set that I had previously coloured to use alongside the archway.

All the above will create just 1 part of a 4 way split frame so now it was time to put together the next part of the frame, this will form the section above the archway. Using the Heffy Doodle starry rainbow die and cut it from various coloured cardstocks, what I love about this die is that the stars are fully cut and you can pop them out, I popped them out and switched the colours around. Whilst using the Heffy Doodle stash I cut out some swirly clouds and stenciled a cloudy skies background with distress inks peacock feathers, picked raspberry and squeezed lemonade.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; I love Halloween 🎃 I got to play with Becky Conley’s Trick or treat image this time and I have to say it made an awesome centerpiece for my Trick or Treat Pocket letter. Pocket letters are so much fun to send in the mail as happy mail. I have made a process video to go with this project - enjoy! https://youtu.be/zdfHW9IZpGY

Shonna Ausbournehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14677928326651129906noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160449512403985677.post-6391131205537457702020-09-29T05:00:00.001+01:002020-09-29T05:00:11.117+01:00Crow on a Branch - Card
Hello Crafty People!

Welcome back to the blog. This background paper is one of my favorite techniques. It can look like leather or tree bark. Spray adhesive onto cardstock and adhere crinkled tissue paper. Use a brayer to flatten, let dry. Paint with umber glaze (acrylic paints sometimes work, if you're careful and they are a liquid). Let dry, then cut to size for your card. (5x8)

2. Print and color your Coffee Bean Design, ink the edges with distress ink and glue in place on the background paper.

3. Wrap brown/metallic fibers around the base below the image, tie off in the back.

4. Adhere a fabric flower with a mini brad in the center.

5. And to me it said, “Wouldn’t I be perfect on a candle holder?” Absolutely!

I printed the image out on vellum and colored it in using my Ohuhu markers. Vellum works best if you color it in on the back side of the printed image. I then cut it out and ran it through the Xyron so that it would have all over adhesive.

I placed a circle the same size as the image onto a clean jar and painted the jar using acrylic paint. Any color will do - I used copper. I removed the blank circle and adhered the image onto the unpainted area of the jar.

I took some lace and glued it around the perimeter of the image. Using white cardstock, I cut out a circle to fit the lid of the jar. Then I punched out a scalloped circle from patterned cardstock and adhered it to the center of the white circle on the lid. I glued rickrack around the edge of the lid. Then I placed a flameless candle inside the jar.

Voila! A cute little candle holder.

These images aren’t just for cards. I was so excited to get to work with this beautiful Fall image by Sarah Kay. I printed the design in a couple sizes so I could keep coloring more leaves with my Copic markers- such fun! I coloured one in for the card image and cut the leaves from the second image. I coloured using my spectrum Noir Pens . I used a gold mirror card for a small splash of colour and glued the extra leaves to the card in a falling pattern. I added a sentiment from my ultimate go-to stamp company , Cracker box and Suzy stamps . I am really happy with the card and think it is perfect for a bereavement card. Thank you so much for looking xxx

Coffee bean design teamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13803646256057982738noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160449512403985677.post-25742484990218726252020-09-12T01:45:00.002+01:002020-09-12T01:45:20.314+01:00Spooky TreatsWhile Halloween maybe different for everyone this year, I hope it will be a meowgical one for all!
I used copic markers to color the image by Sarah Kay. I used distress oxide and inks for the background. The stars are made with die cute and glitter paper from my stash.
So the first thing that I thought of was a witch hat shaped card adorned with Sarah’s adorable digis.

I printed the digis onto 65# cardstock, colored them using my Ohuhu markers, then cut them out. I used the following colors:

Large cat pumpkin sucker: 17, 22, 55, 69, 77, 82, 87, and 94

Small bow: 57 and 64

Small flower with eye center: 56 and 68

Large flower with eye center: 82 and WG1

Candy corn: 8, 23, and 86

Call out shape: 10, 53, and CG2

Word “SUCKER”: 86

Word “BOO”: 82

Words “You are tiful”: 65

I went online and searched for a free witch hat image. In Publisher, I pulled in the witch hat and sized it at about 5” tall (to fit easily on half of the 11” of an 8-1/2” x 11” sheet of 65# cardstock). I folded the card just above the hat peak then cut around the hat (leaving a good size border) to create a shaped card. I adhered the digis to the font of the hat using 3D foam tape.

For the card inside, I cut out the “I’m a SUCKER For you” using shape scissors for the border. I inked the border of the saying using Distress Ink in the color Black Soot. I glued the saying to the bottom of the inside of the card.

I am very happy with the way this card turned out. I hope you like it.

And please take a few minutes and go to our Etsy shop to see all the delightful images available there.

Happy crafting all,

Janet Clark - Lady Bean
Janet Clarkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09026348649353381233noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160449512403985677.post-20804075706424178972020-09-06T07:43:00.000+01:002020-09-06T07:43:00.295+01:00Halloween party table decorationsHey Crafty Friends,
Jas here, it's my turn up on the blog today. I've steered away from my usual A6 card style today to show you something a little different. Party table accessories! As always you will find any product links at the end of my post.

Halloween is probably one of my favourite times of year and whilst this year is likely to be a little different celebration wise we are likely to still have some sort of social distance gathering. So when we were given these images by Sarah Kay they were just perfect to turn into accessories for a party table!

Starting with the images printed on alcohol marker friendly cardstock I coloured them using Spectrum Noir Tri-Blends, I'm starting with this spooky treats cup! (Click on any Image to make it larger)

Colour combination: Slime - Light Green blend
Straw, cup & eyes - Dark Red blend
Pumpkin - Orange and Citrus blends
Screws - Gold Brown blend
Hair & ears - Red Brown and Pale Pink blends

I fussy cut around the main image and stuck it along a crease of a cardstock, cut away the excess and then with the card open I fussy cut again from the crease around the image this time leaving a trim, folded the card again and fussy cut for a final time around the trim again to create this shaped card. I stuck a sentiment inside from the same image set by Sarah Kay as we are likely to serve coffee however you could use this as a menu card for any beverage you might be serving up, get creative with your own names or use one that is supplied 😊

Colour combination for Zombie word: Dark Red, Light Green & Orange blends.

Next image in this set is in the shape of a tag that has a pumpkin image on, I coloured up 2 of these to start with however I will be making a fleet of these for the various snacks we will serve. Fussy cutting around the main images and using a small circle die I cut the holes in the top of the tag.

I pulled out some Candied Apple Distress ink and tapped some onto a perspex sheet, reacted with water and picked up small amounts with a paintbrush tapping it onto the tags to give a blood splatter look and then used some web type ribbon through the hole to finish the look, you can now label these with types of food or other things on the table so your guests know what your serving!
Pumpkin colour combination - Orange and Citrus blends

The final project I made with the spooky treats image set will be the sign I display next to a cake or even cupcakes maybe because who doesnt like a bit of cake! After colouring them up I took a small piece of plain cardstock and gave it some colour by splattering it with the same Candied Apple distress ink I used on the tags, placed 3 of the images along the front and took a sentiment I had in my stash that I got as a freebie at some point and it seemed fun, I love cherries personally so if I get my way at Halloween we will have something cherry flavoured!
