Tissue Cover

This month's lovely floral arrangements by Annie Collins inspired me to create a this tissue box cover. I used a sheet of paper from my stash and colored in the arrangements with colored pencils (no particular brand).

I hope you enjoy and Happy Easter to all. Stay safe and healthy!

INSTRUCTIONS:
BOX SIDE: Cut two (2) pcs of patterned cardstock at 5-1/4” x 9-3/4”, score at 1/2” and at 5-1/8” on the 9-3/4” side
BOX TOP: Cut one (1) pc of patterned card stock at 5-5/8” x 5-5/8”, score at 1/2” on all four (4) sides
BOX TOP REINFORCEMENT: Cut one (1) pc of medium weight chipboard at 5-3/8” x 5-3/8”
Cut an oval shape out of the center of the box top and the box top reinforcement. Attach the reinforcement to the back side of the box top making sure to line up the oval cutouts. There should be a 1/8” border between the chipboard and score lines.
Fold all four (4) sides of the box top on the score lines, then cut the four (4) corners off.
Fold on the score lines of the two (2) box side pieces.
ASSEMBLY:
Attach the two (2) side pieces together by adhering the 1/2” scores to the unscored edge of the next piece to form a square.
Attach the box lid to the box sides by placing glue on the 1/2” folds and adhering to the top of the box sides. Do not use score tape because you need to be able to get the lid on and maneuver it to fit properly.
Decorate the tissue box however you like. I used some bling strips (bought from a local dollar store) around the top outside edge of the box. I then colored and fussy cut the flower arrangements by Annie Collins. I adhered the arrangements to the sides of the box using foam strips.
These would make great gifts. They are quick and easy and each one can be unique depending upon the paper and decorations used.
